Chapter on What is Disliked and Not Disliked – Permissibility to Spread One’s Garment for Prostration in Extreme Heat
Hadith 2354
أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا غَالِبٌ الْقَطَّانُ ، عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمُزَنِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : " كُنَّا إِذَا صَلَّيْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلَمْ يَسْتَطِعْ أَحَدُنَا أَنْ يُمَكِّنَ جَبْهَتَهُ مِنَ الأَرْضِ ، بَسَطَ ثَوْبَهُ فَسَجَدَ عَلَيْهِ " .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When we used to perform prayer behind the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and if any of us was unable to place his forehead on the ground due to the intensity of the heat, he would spread his garment and prostrate on it.
