Chapter on What is Disliked and Not Disliked – Clarification that Aisha Slept Across the Qiblah While the Prophet Prayed
Hadith 2344
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْجُرْجَانِيُّ ، بِحَلَبَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ : " يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ وَأَنَا نَائِمَةٌ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْقِبْلَةِ ، فَإِذَا كَانَ عِنْدَ الْوِتْرِ أَيْقَظَنِي " .
Sayyida Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to perform prayer at night, and I would be lying between him and the Qiblah. When he intended to perform Witr, he would wake me up.
Hadith 2345
أَخْبَرَنَا فِي عَقِبِهِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ أَيُّوبُ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ : مُعْتَرِضَةٌ كَاعْتِرَاضِ الْجَنَازَةِ .
Hisham bin Urwah has narrated these words. (Sayyidah Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, says) "I used to lie down in the direction of the width, just as a bier (is placed) in front of the Imam."
