Chapter on What is Disliked and Not Disliked – What Aisha Did When the Prophet Wanted to Prostrate While She Slept in Front
Hadith 2342
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ بن أنس بن مالك ، عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ مَوْلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ : " كُنْتُ أَنَامُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَرِجْلايَ فِي قِبْلَتِهِ ، فَإِذَا سَجَدَ غَمَزَنِي ، فَقَبَضْتُ رِجْلَيَّ ، وَإِذَا قَامَ بَسَطْتُهُمَا " ، قَالَتْ : وَالْبُيُوتُ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَيْسَ فِيهَا مَصَابِيحُ .
Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: I used to be lying asleep in front of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Both my legs would be in the direction of his Qiblah. When he would go into prostration, he would nudge me, so I would draw in my feet. When he would stand up, I would stretch them out again. Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: In those days, there were no lamps in the houses.
