Chapter on What is Disliked and Not Disliked – Clarification that “If No Dirt is Seen” Means Other than Semen
Hadith 2332
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَسْمَاءَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مَهْدِيُّ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا وَاصِلٌ الأَحْدَبُ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ النَّخَعِيِّ ، عَنِ الأَسْوَدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، قَالَ : رَأَتْنِي عَائِشَةُ أَغْسِلُ أَثَرَ الْجَنَابَةِ أَصَابَ ثَوْبِي ، فَقَالَتْ : مَا هَذَا ؟ فَقُلْتُ : أَثَرُ جَنَابَةٍ أَصَابَ ثَوْبِي ، فَقَالَتْ : " لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُنِي وَإِنَّهُ لَيُصِيبُ ثَوْبَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَمَا يَزِيدُ عَلَى أَنْ يَقُولَ : هَكَذَا نَفْرُكُهُ " .
Aswad bin Yazid narrates: Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) saw me washing the traces of janabah from my garment. She asked: What is this? I replied: This is the trace of janabah that got on my garment. So Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I remember this about myself, it would also get on the garment of the Prophet (peace be upon him), so he would say, we would scrape it off like this.
Hadith 2333
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مَخْلَدُ بْنُ أَبِي زُمَيْلٍ ، وَعَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ ، قَالا : حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، قَالَ : سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أُصَلِّي فِي الثَّوْبِ الَّذِي آتِي فِيهِ أَهْلِي ؟ قَالَ : " نَعَمْ ، إِلا أَنْ تَرَى فِيهِ شَيْئًا فَتَغْسِلَهُ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), "Can I perform prayer in the garment in which I had intercourse with my wife?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes, but if you see anything on it, then wash it."
