Chapter on What is Disliked and Not Disliked – Permissibility to Pray in Women’s Clothes if Clean
Hadith 2329
أَخْبَرَنَا حَامِدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ الْبَلْخِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجُ بْنُ يُونُسَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَدَّادِ بْنِ الْهَادِ ، عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " صَلَّى وَعَلَيْهِ مِرْطٌ لِبَعْضِ نِسَائِهِ ، وَعَلَيْهَا بَعْضُهُ " ، قَالَ سُفْيَانُ : أُرَاهُ قَالَ : " وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ " .
Sayyida Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would be performing prayer, and a part of the sheet belonging to one of his wives would be upon him, and a part of that sheet would be upon that woman. The narrator named Sufyan says: I think the words in the narration are, "and that woman would be in a state of menstruation at that time."
