Chapter on What is Disliked and Not Disliked – Permissibility to Pray in a Single Shirt if Buttoned
Hadith 2294
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْعَدَنِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبِيعَةَ ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الأَكْوَعِ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنِّي أَكُونُ فِي الصَّيْدِ فَأُصَلِّي وَلَيْسَ عَلَيَّ إِلا قَمِيصٌ وَاحِدٌ ، قَالَ : " فَازْرُرْهُ وَلَوْ بِشَوْكَةٍ " .
Sayyiduna Salamah bin Akwa’ (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I said, “O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Sometimes I go out for hunting and I perform prayer in such a state that there is only a shirt on my body.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Fasten its button, even if it is with a thorn.”
