Chapter on What is Disliked and Not Disliked – How to Pray in a Single Garment
Hadith 2292
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَوْنٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، وَوَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ " أَنَّهُ رَأَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ فِي بَيْتِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ وَاضِعًا طَرَفَيْهِ عَلَى عَاتِقِهِ " .
Sayyiduna Umar bin Abu Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: He saw the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) performing prayer in the house of Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) in a single garment. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) had placed both its ends on his shoulders.
