Chapter on What is Disliked and Not Disliked – Obligation to Complete the Prayer by Avoiding Turning Away
Hadith 2287
أَخْبَرَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى السَّاجِيُّ ، بِالْبَصْرَةِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ خَلادٍ الْبَاهِلِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى الْقَطَّانُ ، عَنْ مِسْعَرِ بْنِ كِدَامٍ ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ بْنِ أَبِي الشَّعْثَاءِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الالْتِفَاتِ فِي الصَّلاةِ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنَّمَا هُوَ اخْتِلاسٌ يَخْتَلِسُهُ الشَّيْطَانُ مِنْ صَلاةِ الْعَبْدِ " ، مِنْ حَدِيثِ الْبَصْرَةِ ، عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ .
Sayyida Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about turning one's attention here and there during prayer. He replied: "In this way, Satan snatches away the servant's prayer." This narration is transmitted on the authority of Mas'ar.
