Chapter on the Obligation to Follow the Imam – Permissibility of Followers Saying Takbir After the Imam Finishes Prayer
Hadith 2232
أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلاءِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو مَعْبَدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : " كُنْتُ أَعْرِفُ انْقِضَاءَ صَلاةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالتَّكْبِيرِ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: I used to know that the prayer of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) had ended by the sound of the takbeer.
