Chapter on the Obligation to Follow the Imam – Prohibition for Women to Wear Perfume When Attending Congregational Isha
Hadith 2215
أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ خُزَيْمَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَكِيمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى الْقَطَّانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَجْلانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا بُكَيْرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الأَشَجِّ ، عَنْ بُسْرِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ زَيْنَبَ ، امْرَأَةِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " إِذَا شَهِدَتْ إِحْدَاكُنَّ الْعِشَاءَ ، فَلا تَمَسَّ طِيبًا " .
Lady Zainab, may Allah be pleased with her, who is the wife of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates: She heard the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, saying: "When any woman among you participates in the 'Isha prayer, she should not have applied perfume."
