Chapter on the Obligation to Follow the Imam – Mention of the Third Condition Allowing Women to Attend the Mosque at Night
Hadith 2212
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَنْصُورُ بْنُ أَبِي مُزَاحِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ هِشَامٍ ، عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الأَشَجِّ ، عَنْ بُسْرِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ زَيْنَبَ الثَّقَفِيَّةِ ، امْرَأَةِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَهَا : " إِذَا خَرَجْتِ إِلَى الْعِشَاءِ فَلا تَمَسِّينَ طِيبًا " . قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ : الإِسْنَادَانِ جَمِيعًا مَحْفُوظَانِ ، وَهُمَا طَرِيقَانِ اثْنَانِ مَتْنَاهُمَا مُخْتَلِفَانِ .
Sayyidah Zainab (may Allah be pleased with her), who is the wife of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him), narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her, “When you go out (from your house) for the ‘Isha prayer, you should not have applied perfume.” (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) Both its chains of narration are preserved and the texts of both routes differ from each other.
