Chapter on the Obligation to Follow the Imam – Report Refuting the Claim that This Hadith is Unique to Hilal ibn Yasaf
Hadith 2201
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زِيَادِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ زِيَادِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ ، عَنْ وَابِصَةَ بْنِ مَعْبَدٍ : " أَنَّ رَجُلا صَلَّى خَلْفَ الصَّفِّ وَحْدَهُ ، فَأَمَرَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يُعِيدَ الصَّلاةَ " .
Sayyiduna Wabisah bin Ma’bad (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man performed prayer standing alone behind the row, so the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ordered him to repeat the prayer.
