Chapter on the Obligation to Follow the Imam – Clarification that One May Choose to Pray in Shoes or Remove Them
Hadith 2183
أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ خُزَيْمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عِيَاضُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْقُرَشِيُّ ، وَغَيْرُهُ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا صَلَّى أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَلْبَسْ نَعْلَيْهِ ، أَوْ لِيَخْلَعْهُمَا بَيْنَ رِجْلَيْهِ ، وَلا يُؤْذِ بِهِمَا غَيْرَهُ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "When a person offers prayer, he should either keep his shoes on or take them off and place them between his feet; he should not cause harm to anyone else through them."
