Chapter on the Obligation to Follow the Imam - Allah's forgiveness and the angels' prayers for those who join the incomplete rows
Hadith 2163
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ قُتَيْبَةَ ، بِعَسْقَلانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ يَصِلُونَ الصُّفُوفَ " . قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ : أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ هَذَا هُوَ اللَّيْثِيُّ ، مَوْلًى لَهُمْ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ ، مُسْتَقِيمُ الأَمْرِ صَحِيحُ الْكِتَابِ ، وَأُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ مَدَنِيٌّ وَاهٍ ، وَكَانَا فِي زَمَنٍ وَاحِدٍ إِلا أَنَّ اللَّيْثِيَّ أَقْدَمُ .
Sayyida Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): “Indeed, Allah Almighty and His angels send mercy upon those who join the rows.” (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) The narrator named Usama bin Zaid is Laithi; he is their freed slave. He is associated with the people of Madinah and is upright in his affairs. His narrations are authentic. Whereas Usama bin Zaid bin Aslam is a resident of Madinah Munawwarah, but he is weak. Both belong to the same era, but the narrator named Laithi is older in age.
