Hadith 2094
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ : أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُتِيَ بِقَصْعَةٍ مِنْ ثَرِيدٍ فِيهَا ثُومٌ ، فَلَمْ يَأْكُلْ مِنْهَا ، وَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى أَبِي أَيُّوبَ ، وَكَانَ أَبُو أَيُّوبَ يَضَعُ يَدَهُ حَيْثُ يَرَى يَدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَضَعَ يَدَهُ ، فَلَمَّا لَمْ يَرَ أَثَرَ يَدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمْ يَأْكُلْ ، فَأَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ : إِنِّي لَمْ أَرَ أَثَرَ يَدِكَ فِيهَا . فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " فِيهَا رِيحُ الثُّومِ وَمَعِي مَلَكٌ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A bowl of tharid was brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in which there was also garlic, so the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not eat it. He sent it to Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him). Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him) would place his hand where he saw the mark of the blessed hand of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). When he did not see the mark of the blessed hand of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), he also did not eat it. Then he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He submitted to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): I did not see the mark of your blessed hand in it. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: There was the smell of garlic in it, and there is an angel with me.
