Hadith 2033
أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ الْعَطَّارُ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْحَنَفِيُّ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا قُرَّةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، قَالَ: انْتَظَرْنَا الْحَسَنَ ، وَرَاثَ عَلَيْنَا حَتَّى قَرُبْنَا مِنْ وَقْتِ قِيَامِهِ جَاءَ ، فَقَالَ: دَعَانَا جِيرَانُنَا هَؤُلاءِ ، ثُمّ قَالَ: قَالَ أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ : انْتَظَرْنَا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ ، حَتَّى كَانَ شَطْرُ اللَّيْلِ ، فَجَاءَ ، فَصَلَّى لَنَا ، ثُمَّ خَطَبَنَا فَقَالَ: " إِنَّ النَّاسَ قَدْ صَلُّوا ، وَرَقَدُوا ، وَإِنَّكُمْ لَنْ تَزَالُوا فِي صَلاةٍ مُذِ انْتَظَرْتُمُ الصَّلاةَ " . قَالَ أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ : " إِنَّ الْقَوْمَ لا يَزَالُونَ بِخَيْرٍ مَا انْتَظَرُوا الْخَيْرَ " .
Qurra bin Khalid narrates: We were waiting for Hasan Basri. He did not come to us for quite a while, until when it was near the time for him to leave, he came at that time. He said: Our neighbors had called me, then he mentioned this incident. Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated this: One night we kept waiting for the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) until half the night had passed, then he came and led us in prayer. Then, delivering a sermon, he said: "People have performed the prayer and gone to sleep, and you, since you have been waiting for the prayer, will be counted as being in the state of prayer." Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Those who keep waiting for goodness are counted as being in the state of goodness.
