Hadith 2030
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ : " أَنَّ أُسَيْدَ بْنَ حُضَيْرٍ ، وَرَجُلا آخَرَ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ ، تَحَدَّثَا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، لَيْلَةً حَتَّى ذَهَبَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ سَاعَةٌ ، فِي لَيْلَةٍ شَدِيدَةِ الظُّلْمَةِ ، ثُمَّ خَرَجَا مِنْ عِنْدِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَنْقَلِبَانِ ، وَبِيَدِ كُلِّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا عَصَاهُ ، فَأَضَاءَتْ عَصًا أَحَدِهِمَا لَهُمَا حَتَّى مَشَيَا فِي ضَوْئِهَا ، حَتَّى إِذَا افْتَرَقَتْ بِهِمَا الطَّرِيقُ أَضَاءَتْ بِالآخَرِ عَصَاهُ ، فَمَشَى كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا فِي ضَوْئِهَا حَتَّى بَلَغَ أَهْلَهُ " .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna Usayd bin Hudayr (may Allah be pleased with him) and another Ansari companion sat with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) talking until a part of the night had passed; it was an extremely dark night. Both of them got up from the presence of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to return, and each of them had a staff in his hand. The staff of one of them began to emit light for them, so they walked in its light. When they were about to part ways on the road, the staff of the other companion also began to emit light, and each of them walked to his home in the light of his own staff.
Hadith 2031
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، قَالَ : " جَدَبَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ السَّمَرَ بَعْدَ صَلاةِ الْعَتَمَةِ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) disliked talking after the 'Isha prayer.
