Hadith 2023
Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Whoever recites these words in the morning: ‘There is no deity except Allah. He is the One and Only. He has no partner. Sovereignty belongs exclusively to Him. All praise is exclusively for Him. He has power over everything.’ If a person recites this statement ten times, then in return for these words, ten good deeds will be recorded for him. Ten of his sins will be erased. Because of these words, his ten ranks will be elevated, and these words will be equal to freeing four slaves for him, and these words will be a means of protection from Satan for him until the evening. Whoever recites these words after performing the Maghrib prayer, he will have this distinction until the morning. This narration is also transmitted with another chain. Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): ‘Whoever recites this statement after performing the prayer: “There is no deity except Allah. He is the One and Only. He has no partner. Sovereignty belongs exclusively to Him. All praise is exclusively for Him, and He has power over everything.” Then, because of these words, ten good deeds will be recorded for him, ten of his sins will be forgiven, his ten ranks will be elevated, and these words will be equal to freeing ten slaves for him, and these words will be a means of protection from Satan for him. Whoever recites these words in the evening, he will have this distinction until the morning.’ (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) Yazid bin Yazid heard this narration from both Mak’hool and Qasim bin Mukhaymirah, and both chains are preserved.
