Section on Qunut - Permission to turn to the left when leaving the prayer
Hadith 1997
أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، قَالَ : مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنِ الأَسْوَدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ : لا يَجْعَلْ أَحَدُكُمْ لِلشَّيْطَانِ جُزْءًا مِنْ نَفْسِهِ ، يَرَى أَنَّ حَقًّا عَلَيْهِ أَنْ يَنْصَرِفَ إِلا عَنْ يَمِينِهِ ، " فَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَكْثَرُ انْصِرَافِهِ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: No person should let Satan have a share in his own self, he should not think this way; it is necessary for him (after finishing the prayer) that he can only get up from the right side, because I have seen the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) most of the time getting up from the left side.
