Section on Qunut - The Prophet's qunut in prayers
Hadith 1982
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى الْقَطَّانِ ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ الدَّسْتُوَائِيِّ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : " قَنَتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَهْرًا بَعْدَ الرُّكُوعِ ، يَدْعُو عَلَى أَحْيَاءٍ مِنَ الْعَرَبِ ، ثُمَّ تَرَكَهُ " .
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) recited Qunoot Nazilah for a month after bowing (ruku’). In it, he supplicated against the Arab tribes, then he abandoned this practice.
