Chapter on the Description of Prayer - Permission for the praying person to mention whomever they wish in their supplication
Hadith 1969
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : لَمَّا رَفَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنَ الرَّكْعَةِ الآخِرَةِ مِنْ صَلاةِ الصُّبْحِ ، قَالَ : " اللَّهُمَّ أَنْجِ الْوَلِيدَ بْنَ الْوَلِيدِ ، وَسَلَمَةَ بْنَ هِشَامٍ ، وَعَيَّاشَ بْنَ أَبِي رَبِيعَةَ ، اللَّهُمَّ اشْدُدْ وَطْأَتَكَ عَلَى مُضَرَ ، وَاجْعَلْهَا عَلَيْهِمْ سِنِينَ كَسِنِي يُوسُفَ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his head from the last rak'ah of the morning prayer (i.e., after rising from bowing), he supplicated: "O Allah! Grant salvation to Walid bin Walid, Salamah bin Hisham, and 'Ayyash bin Abu Rabi'ah. O Allah! Send Your severity upon the tribe of Mudar and inflict upon them a famine like that during the time of Sayyiduna Yusuf."
