Chapter on the Manner of Prayer – Description of the glorification said in prostration
Hadith 1930
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الضُّحَى ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُكْثِرُ أَنْ يَقُولَ فِي سُجُودِهِ : " سُبْحَانَكَ رَبَّنَا وَبِحَمْدِكَ ، اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي " . قَالَتْ : فَكَانَ يَتَأَوَّلُ الْقُرْآنَ .
Sayyidah Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to frequently recite these words during prostration: "Glory is to You, our Lord, and all praise is for You. O Allah! Forgive me." Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to act upon the command of the Qur'an.
