Chapter on the Manner of Prayer – Clarification that all seven limbs prostrate with the worshipper
Hadith 1921
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْجُنَيْدِ ، بِبُسْتَ ، حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ مُضَرَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْهَادِ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ ، عَنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " إِذَا سَجَدَ الْعَبْدُ سَجَدَ مَعَهُ سَبْعَةُ آرَابٍ : وَجْهُهُ ، وَرُكْبَتَاهُ ، وَكَفَّاهُ ، وَقَدَمَاهُ " .
Aamir bin Sa’d narrates this statement from Sayyiduna Abbas bin Abdul Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him), who heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say: “When a servant prostrates, seven parts of his body prostrate along with him: his face, his two knees, his two palms, and his two feet.”
