Chapter on the Manner of Prayer – Recommendation to spread the arms in prostration until the whiteness of the armpits is visible
Hadith 1919
أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَهْلِ بْنِ عَسْكَرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الأَسْوَدِ النَّضْرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ مُضَرٍ ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ هُرْمُزَ الأَعْرَجِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ بُحَيْنَةَ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا سَجَدَ فَرَّجَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ حَتَّى يَبْدُوَ بَيَاضُ إِبْطَيْهِ " .
Sayyiduna Ibn Buhaina (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would go into prostration, he would spread his arms so much that the whiteness of his armpits would become visible.
