Chapter on the Manner of Prayer – Command to raise the elbows from the ground during prostration
Hadith 1916
أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِيَادِ بْنِ لَقِيطٍ ، عَنْ إِيَادِ بْنِ لَقِيطٍ ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا سَجَدْتَ ، فَضَعْ كَفَّيْكَ ، وَارْفَعْ مِرْفَقَيْكَ ، وَانْتَصِبْ " .
Sayyiduna Bara’ (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “When you go into prostration, place both your palms (on the ground) and keep both your elbows raised and set them upright.”
