Chapter on the Manner of Prayer – Recommendation to place the knees on the ground before the hands in prostration
Hadith 1912
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الثَّقَفِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْحُلْوَانِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ كُلَيْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ وَائِلِ بْنِ حُجْرٍ ، قَالَ : " رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، إِذَا سَجَدَ ، وَضَعَ رُكْبَتَيْهِ قَبْلَ يَدَيْهِ ، وَإِذَا نَهَضَ ، رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ قَبْلَ رُكْبَتَيْهِ " .
Sayyiduna Wa'il bin Hujr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I saw the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), when he went into prostration, he placed his knees on the ground before his hands, and when he rose, he lifted his hands before his knees.
