Chapter on the Manner of Prayer – The Prophet’s tranquility when rising from bowing
Hadith 1902
أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَنْعَتُ لَنَا صَلاةَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَقُومُ فَيُصَلِّي ، فَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ ، قُلْنَا : قَدْ نَسِيَ مِنْ طُولِ الْقِيَامِ " .
Thabit Banani narrates: I heard Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him). He described to us the manner of the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) prayer, saying: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was performing prayer, and he would raise his head from bowing (ruku’), due to the length of his standing, we would think that perhaps he had forgotten (to go into prostration).
