Hadith 1837
Sulaiman bin Yasar narrates this. He heard Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) saying this: I have not seen anyone perform prayer more similar to the prayer of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) than such-and-such person. He said this regarding the governor of Madinah Munawwarah. The narrator named Sulaiman says: I also performed prayer behind this person, and he used to recite at length in the first two rak‘ahs of Zuhr and perform the last two rak‘ahs relatively shorter. He used to perform the ‘Asr prayer briefly, and in the first two rak‘ahs of Maghrib prayer, he would recite from the short Mufassal surahs, and in the ‘Isha prayer, he would recite from the medium Mufassal surahs, while in the Fajr prayer, he would recite from the long Mufassal surahs.
