Chapter on the Manner of Prayer – Clarification that recitation in Maghrib is not restricted
Hadith 1835
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَوْنٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ حُرَيْثٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " قَرَأَ بِهِمْ فِي الْمَغْرِبِ بِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَصَدُّوا عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ سورة النساء آية 167 " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was leading those people in the Maghrib prayer, and he recited this verse: "Those who disbelieved and hindered (others) from the way of Allah" (that is, he recited Surah Muhammad).
