Chapter on the Manner of Prayer – Clarification that the best prayer is the one with prolonged standing
Hadith 1758
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ الْعَبْدِيُّ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَيُّ الصَّلاةِ أَفْضَلُ ؟ قَالَ : " طُولُ الْقُنُوتِ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man came to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). He asked: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), which prayer has the most virtue? The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The one with the longest standing (Qunoot).
