Chapter on Virtue of the Five Prayers - Description of the two cool prayers that lead to Paradise.
Hadith 1740
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ السَّعْدِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ أَبِي رِزْمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ مَرْدَانِبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا رَقَبَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ رُوَيْبَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " لَنْ يَلِجَ النَّارَ مَنْ صَلَّى قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ ، وَقَبْلَ غُرُوبِهَا " . فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ : أَنْتَ سَمِعْتَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ .
Abu Bakr bin Ammarah bin Ruwaybah narrates from his father: I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) say, "The person who performs the prayer before sunrise and the prayer before sunset will not enter Hell." One of those present asked, "Did you hear this hadith directly from the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)?" He replied, "Yes."
Hadith 1741
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدَ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَرْبِ بْنِ أَبِي الأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ فَضَالَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ اللَّيْثِيِّ ، قَالَ : أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَأَسْلَمْتُ وَعَلَّمَنِي الصَّلَوَاتِ الْخَمْسَ فِي مَوَاقِيتِهَا . قَالَ : فَقُلْتُ لَهُ : إِنَّ هَذِهِ سَاعَاتٌ أَشْتَغِلُ فِيهَا ، فَمُرْ لِي بِجَوَامِعَ . قَالَ : فَقَالَ : " إِنْ شُغِلْتَ ، فَلا تُشْغَلْ عَنِ الْعَصْرَيْنِ " . قَالَ : قُلْتُ : وَمَا الْعَصْرَانِ ؟ قَالَ : " صَلاةُ الْغَدَاةِ ، وَصَلاةُ الْعَصْرِ " .
Sayyiduna Fadala bin Abdullah Laithi رضي الله عنه narrates: I presented myself before the Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم. I accepted Islam and the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم taught me to perform the five prayers at their specific times. The narrator states: I asked him, "These are the times when I am occupied. Please command me regarding something comprehensive." The narrator states that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: "If you are occupied, then do not be negligent regarding the two Asr prayers." The narrator says: I asked, "Which are the two Asr prayers?" The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: "The Fajr prayer and the Asr prayer."
