Chapter on Virtue of the Five Prayers - The Prophet called Asr and Fajr "the two cool prayers."
Hadith 1739
أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى بْنِ مُجَاشِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو جَمْرَةَ الضُّبَعِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عُمَارَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ صَلَّى الْبَرْدَيْنِ ، دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ " . قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ : أَبُو جَمْرَةَ هَذَا مِنْ ثِقَاتِ أَهْلِ الْبَصْرَةِ ، اسْمُهُ : نَصْرُ بْنُ عِمْرَانَ الضُّبَعِيُّ . وَأَبُو حَمْزَةَ : مِنْ مُتْقِنِي أَهْلِهَا ، اسْمُهُ : عِمْرَانُ بْنُ أَبِي عَطَاءٍ . سَمِعَا جَمِيعًا ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ، سَمِعَ شُعْبَةُ مِنْهُمَا ، وَكَانَا فِي زَمَنٍ وَاحِدٍ .
Abu Bakr bin Ammarah narrates from his father: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Whoever performs the two cool prayers will enter Paradise." (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) The narrator named Abu Jamrah, who was from Basra, is among the "trustworthy" narrators; his name is Nasr bin Imran Dubay'i. The narrator named Abu Hamzah is among the "precise" narrators from there; his name is Imran bin Abu Ata. Both of these individuals heard hadith from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), and Shu'bah heard from both of them; both of them are from the same era.
