Hadith 1730
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ ، وَالأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَجُلٌ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنِّي لَقِيتُ امْرَأَةً فِي الْبُسْتَانِ ، فَضَمَمْتُهَا إِلَيَّ ، وَقَبَّلْتُهَا ، وَبَاشَرْتُهَا ، وَفَعَلْتُ بِهَا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ ، إِلا أَنِّي لَمْ أُجَامِعْهَا . فَسَكَتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ جَلَّ وَعَلا : أَقِمِ الصَّلاةَ طَرَفَيِ النَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ إِنَّ الْحَسَنَاتِ يُذْهِبْنَ السَّيِّئَاتِ ذَلِكَ ذِكْرَى لِلذَّاكِرِينَ سورة هود آية 114 . قَالَ : فَدَعَاهُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَرَأَهَا عَلَيْهِ ، فَقَالُ عُمَرُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَلَهُ خَاصَّةً ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " بَلْ لِلنَّاسِ كَافَّةً " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man said, “O Messenger of Allah! I met a woman in a garden, I embraced her, I kissed her, I did everything with her except intercourse.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent. Then Allah the Exalted revealed this verse: “Establish prayer at the two ends of the day and at some hours of the night. Indeed, good deeds erase bad deeds. That is a reminder for those who remember.” The narrator says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called the man and recited this verse to him. Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, “O Messenger of Allah! Is this ruling specific to him?” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “(No), rather it is for all people.”
