Chapter on Virtue of the Five Prayers - The gates of heaven open at the times of obligatory prayers.
Hadith 1720
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ السِّجِسْتَانِيُّ ، بِدِمَشْقَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْبُخَارِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُنْذِرِ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " سَاعَتَانِ تُفْتَحُ فِيهِمَا أَبْوَابُ السَّمَاءِ : عِنْدَ حُضُورِ الصَّلاةِ ، وَعِنْدَ الصَّفِّ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ " .
Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “There are two moments in which the gates of the heavens are opened: at the time of attending the prayer, and at the time of forming ranks in the path of Allah (while engaging in jihad).”
