Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him): Can a person perform prayer in a single garment? The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If Allah has given you abundance, then give yourself abundance. A man should combine two types of garments on his body. A man may perform prayer in an izar (lower garment) and a sheet, or an izar and a shirt, or an izar and a cloak, or trousers and a sheet, or trousers and a cloak, or pajamas and a shirt, or pajamas and a cloak. The narrator says: I think he also said: (He may perform prayer) in pajamas and a sheet.
Hadith 1715
Abdullah bin Dinar narrates: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) stated that once people were offering the morning prayer in Quba. During this, a person came to them and said: The Qur’an was revealed to Allah’s Messenger last night: He has been commanded to turn his face towards the Ka’bah, so you should also turn your faces towards it. At that time, their faces were towards Syria, so they turned around and faced the Ka’bah.
