Chapter on Conditions of Prayer - Prohibition for an adult free woman to pray without a head covering.
Hadith 1711
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمْةَ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ صَفِيةَ بِنْتِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لا يَقْبَلُ اللَّهُ صَلاةَ حَائِضٍ إِلا بِخِمَارٍ " .
Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates this statement of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "Allah Almighty does not accept the prayer of an adult woman without a veil (covering)."
Hadith 1712
حَدَّثَنَاهُ ابْنُ خُزَيْمَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا بُنْدَارٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ ، بِإِسْنَادٍ مِثْلِهِ ، وَقَالَ : " صَلاةَ امْرَأَةٍ حَائِضٍ إِلا بِخِمَارٍ " .
The same narration is transmitted with another chain, however, in it are these words: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "The prayer of an adult woman is only with a cloak."
