Chapter on Adhan - Promise of intercession for one who asks Allah for the Prophet’s highest rank in Paradise after hearing the adhan.
Hadith 1690
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ قُتَيْبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي حَيْوَةُ بْنُ شُرَيْحٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي كَعْبُ بْنُ عَلْقَمَةَ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفِيرٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " إِذَا سَمِعْتُمُ الْمُؤَذِّنَ فَقُولُوا مِثْلَ مَا يَقُولُ ، ثُمَّ صَلُّوا عَلَيَّ ، فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَيَّ صَلاةً صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ عَشْرًا ، ثُمَّ سَلُوا لِيَ الْوَسِيلَةَ ، فَإِنَّهَا مَرْتَبَةٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ ، لا تَنْبَغِي إِلا لِعَبْدٍ مِنْ عِبَادِ اللَّهِ ، وَأَرْجُو أَنْ أَكُونَ أَنَا هُوَ ، فَمَنْ سَأَلَ اللَّهَ لِيَ الْوَسِيلَةَ حَلَّتْ عَلَيْهِ الشَّفَاعَةُ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: He heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "When you hear the muezzin, say the same words as he says. Then send blessings upon me, for whoever sends blessings upon me once, Allah will send ten mercies upon him. Then ask Allah to grant me al-Wasilah, which is a rank in Paradise that will be given to only one of Allah’s servants, and I hope that I will be that servant. Whoever asks Allah for al-Wasilah for me, my intercession will become obligatory for him."
