باب الأذان - ذكر الترغيب في الأذان بالاستهام عليه
Chapter on Adhan - Encouragement to draw lots for the call to prayer.
Hadith 1659
أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ بِمَنْبِجَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ سُمَيٍّ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَوْ يَعْلَمْ النَّاسُ مَا فِي النِّدَاءِ وَالصَّفِّ الأَوَّلِ ، ثُمَّ لَمْ يَجِدُوا إِلا أَنْ يَسْتَهِمُوا عَلَيْهِ لاسْتَهَمُوا عَلَيْهِ ، وَلَوْ يَعْلَمْونَ مَا فِي الْعَتَمَةِ وَالصُّبْحِ لأَتَوْهُمَا وَلَوْ حَبْوًا " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If people were to know what (reward and virtue) there is in the call to prayer and in the first row, and then they had no way (to attain it) except by drawing lots, they would surely draw lots for it. And if they were to know what (reward and virtue) there is in the ‘Isha and Fajr (prayer in congregation), they would surely attend them both, even if they had to crawl to do so."
