Chapter on Mosques - Instruction to cover arrowheads when passing through the mosque.
Hadith 1647
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفِيانُ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ لِعَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ : يَا أَبَا مُحَمَّدٍ أَسَمِعْتَ جَابِرًا ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِرَجُلٍ مَرَّ بِأْسَهُمٍ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ : " أَمْسِكْ بِنُصُولِهَا ؟ " ، قَالَ : نَعَمْ .
Sufyan says: I asked Amr bin Dinar, "O Abu Muhammad! Did you hear Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrate that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said to a person passing through the mosque with an arrow: 'Hold it by its pointed end'?" He replied, "Yes."
