Chapter on Mosques - Clarification that the Prophet saw both minor and major deeds of his nation when presented to him.
Hadith 1641
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَسْمَاءَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَهْدِيُّ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَاصِلٌ مَوْلَى أَبِي عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَقِيلٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ يَعْمُرَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " عُرِضَتْ عَلَيَّ أُمَّتِي حَسَنُهَا وَسَيِّئُهَا ، فَوَجَدْتُ فِي مَحَاسِنِ أَعْمَالِهَا إِمَاطَةَ الأَذَى عَنِ الطَّرِيقِ ، وَوَجَدْتُ فِي مَسَاوِئِ أَعْمَالِهَا النُّخَامَةَ تَكُونُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ لا تُدْفَنُ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Dharr Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The good and bad deeds of my Ummah were presented before me. Among their good deeds, I found the removal of something harmful from the road, and among their bad deeds, I found the spittle that was in the mosque and had not been buried."
