Chapter on Mosques - Clarification that Allah builds a house in Paradise for the mosque builder according to its size.
Hadith 1609
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَلَمْ الْمَقْدِسِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، أَنَّ بُكَيْرًا ، حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ عَاصِمَ بْنَ عُمَرَ بْنِ قَتَادَةَ ، حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُبَيْدَ اللَّهِ الْخَوْلانِيَّ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ عَفَّانَ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " مَنْ بَنَى مَسْجِدًا ، بَنَى اللَّهُ لَهُ مِثْلَهُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ " . قَالَ بُكَيْرٌ : حَسِبْتُ أَنَّهُ قَالَ : يَبْتَغِي بِهِ وَجْهَ اللَّهِ جَلَّ وَعَلا .
Sayyiduna Uthman Ghani (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever builds a mosque, Allah Almighty builds for him a house like it in Paradise." The narrator named Bukair says: I think these words are also in the narration: "(builds a mosque) for the sake of attaining Allah Almighty's pleasure."
