Hadith 1599
أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو الْقُرَشِيُّ ، بِالْبَصْرَةِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ ، عَنْ مُحَارِبِ بْنِ دِثَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ رَجُلا سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَيُّ الْبِقَاعِ شَرٌّ ؟ قَالَ : " لا أَدْرِي حَتَّى أَسْأَلَ جِبْرِيلَ " ، فَسَأَلَ جِبْرِيلَ ، فَقَالَ : " لا أَدْرِي حَتَّى أَسْأَلَ مِيكَائِيلَ " ، فَجَاءَ ، فَقَالَ : " خَيْرُ الْبِقَاعِ الْمَسَاجِدُ ، وَشَرُّهَا الأَسْوَاقُ " .
Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates: A man asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), "Which part of the earth is the worst?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied, "I do not know; I will ask Jibreel about this." Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) asked Jibreel (peace be upon him), and he replied, "I do not know; I will ask Mikaeel about this." Then he came and informed: "The best part of the earth is the mosques, and the worst part is the markets."
