Hadith 1592
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ قُتَيْبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ مَوْهَبٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا الْمُفَضَّلُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ ، عَنْ عَقِيلٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، " إِذَا ارْتَحَلَ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَزِيغَ الشَّمْسُ ، أَخَّرَ الظُّهْرَ إِلَى وَقْتِ الْعَصْرِ ، ثُمَّ نَزَلَ فَجَمَعَ بَيْنَهُمَا ، وَإِذَا زَاغَتْ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَرْتَحِلَ ، صَلَّى ثُمَّ رَحَلَ " .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) intended to depart before the sun had declined, he would delay the Zuhr prayer until the time of Asr, then after halting, he would perform both prayers together. And when the sun had already declined before his departure, he would set out after performing the prayer.
