Abdullah bin Abu Qatadah narrates from his father: We were traveling with the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Someone among the people said: O Messenger of Allah, if you would allow us to stop (it would be a kindness). The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: I fear that you will sleep through the time of prayer. Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I will wake you all up. Then he sat down leaning against his mount. The Prophet (peace be upon him) woke up when the edge of the sun had already risen. He said: O Bilal! What happened to what you said? He replied: Sleep also overcame me, and it was such a sleep as I have never experienced before. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Get up and announce the prayer among the people. When the sun had risen and become bright, the Prophet (peace be upon him) stood up and led the people in prayer.
