Abu Salamah reports: He asked Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) about the two rak‘ahs which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed in her house after ‘Asr. Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) replied: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform these rak‘ahs after Zuhr. On one occasion, due to some engagement, he could not perform them, so he performed them after ‘Asr. After that, he began to perform them regularly. Whenever he performed a prayer, he would perform it regularly. (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Hajjak was among the devout worshippers.
