Prayer times: Recommending to hasten Asr prayer
Hadith 1514
أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْبُخَارِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بِلالٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بِلالٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى الْمَازِنِيِّ ، عَنْ خَلادِ بْنِ خَلادٍ الأَنْصَارِيِّ ، قَالَ : صَلَّيْنَا مَعَ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ يَوْمًا ، ثُمَّ دَخَلْنَا عَلَى أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، فَوَجَدْنَاهُ قَائِمًا يُصَلِّي ، فَلَمْا انْصَرَفَ قُلْنَا : يَا أَبَا حَمْزَةَ ، أَيُّ صَلاةٍ صَلَّيْتَ ؟ قَالَ : الْعَصْرَ ، فَقُلْنَا : إِنَّمَا انْصَرَفْنَا الآنَ مِنَ الظُّهْرِ ، صَلَّيْنَاهَا مَعَ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، فَقَالَ أَنَسٌ : إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي هَكَذَا ، فَلا أَتْرُكُهَا أَبَدًا " .
Khalad bin Khalad Ansari narrates: We performed prayer one day behind Umar bin Abdul Aziz, then we went to the service of Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), and we found him standing and performing prayer. When he completed the prayer, we asked: O Abu Hamzah! Which prayer did you just perform? He replied: Asr prayer. We said: We have just come after performing the Zuhr prayer which we offered behind Umar bin Abdul Aziz. So Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) informed us: I saw the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) performing this prayer in this (time) manner; I will never abandon it.
