Prayer times: Clarifying that catching one unit requires completing the rest, not that the whole prayer is caught
Hadith 1486
أَخْبَرَنَا مَكْحُولٌ ، بِبَيْرُوتَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ غَالِبٍ الأَنْطَاكِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا غُصْنُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ ثَوْبَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، وَمَكْحُولٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمْةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ أَدْرَكَ مِنْ صَلاةِ رَكْعَةٍ فَقَدْ أَدْرَكَهَا وَلْيُتِمَّ مَا بَقِيَ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "Whoever catches one rak'ah of the prayer has caught it; he should complete the remaining part of the prayer."
