Prayer times: Clarifying that praying at the appointed time is among the best deeds
Hadith 1474
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَمْرٍو الشَّيْبَانِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَفْضَلُ ؟ قَالَ : " الصَّلاةُ لَمْيقَاتِهَا " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), "Which deed is the most virtuous?" The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "To perform the prayers at their prescribed times."
