Warning against abandoning prayer: Prohibition of neglecting obligatory prayers
Hadith 1467
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السَّامِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سَلَمْةُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْمُقْرِئُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي كَعْبُ بْنُ عَلْقَمَةَ ، عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ هِلالٍ الصَّدَفِي ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " أَنَّهُ ذَكَرَ الصَّلاةَ يَوْمًا فَقَالَ : مَنْ حَافَظَ عَلَيْهَا كَانَتْ لَهُ نُورًا وَبُرْهَانًا وَنَجَاةً يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، وَمَنْ لَمْ يُحَافِظْ عَلَيْهَا لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ بُرْهَانٌ وَلا نُورٌ وَلا نَجَاةٌ ، وَكَانَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مَعَ قَارُونَ وَهَامَانَ وَفِرْعَوْنَ وَأُبَيِّ بْنِ خَلَفٍ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates about the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that one day, while mentioning prayer, he said: "Whoever performs them regularly, they will be light, proof, and salvation for him on the Day of Resurrection. And whoever does not perform them regularly, he will have no proof, no light, and no salvation, and on the Day of Resurrection, he will be with Qarun, Haman, and Ubayy bin Khalaf."
