Warning against abandoning prayer: A phrase that misled some into thinking missing prayer until its time ends is disbelief
Hadith 1454
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَوْنٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَمَّارٍ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ حُرَيْثٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ وَاقِدٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ الْعَهْدَ الَّذِي بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَهُمُ الصَّلاةُ ، فَمَنْ تَرَكَهَا فَقَدْ كَفَرَ " .
Abdullah bin Buraidah narrates from his father that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Indeed, the fundamental thing between us and them (the disbelievers) is the prayer; whoever abandons it has committed disbelief."
